Valley Church was founded in late 2022 by a group of local families.
The group was eager to establish a church in Traralgon, for Christians and those exploring faith, that offered a rich experience of Christian community and an engaging approach to teaching God’s Word.
Roger and Cath Curran

Roger and Cath live in Traralgon and give leadership to the church. In addition to his responsibilities within the church, Roger runs a marketing consultancy. Cath is the director of the Anaesthetic department at Latrobe Regional Hospital. On weekends you’ll find them exploring the surrounding hills and forests with their 3 kids.
Ash McKay
Deacon
Ash serves throughout the church and holds the role of Treasurer. He works in finance supporting the needs of small and medium businesses in his role at a local banking institution during the week.
Valley Church is an independent church that partners with the Advance Movement of churches. Advance is a church planting and strengthening partnership, with around 130 churches on 5 continents in partnership. Our primary focus is sharing the good news of Jesus with our friends and family in the Latrobe Valley. Partnership with Advance gives us the means to do the same with communities and people groups around the world.
We connect regularly with other church leaders from Advance and count them as part of our church family, as we urge each other on toward love and holiness.

for creation; yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgment.
The incarnation of God’s eternal son, the Lord Jesus Christ, born of the virgin, Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price for sin and
defeating evil – and so reconciling us with God.
The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection, his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only savior of the world.
The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God, through faith in Christ.
The ministry of God, the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
The Church, the body of Christ (both local and universal) the priesthood of all believers – given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfill the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgment, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
